Students with diverse learning needs encompasses, but is not limited to, students who:
- Have a disability
- Speak English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D)
- Are Gifted and Talented in one or more areas
- From different cultural and religious backgrounds
- LGBTQI+
At Nirimba State Primary School we value all students for their uniqueness and how this contributes to a positive and diverse school community. Our belief is that students should learn alongside their peers with co-teaching used to support the additional learning needs of some our students. Occasionally, other teaching and learning models will be used as part of an individual student’s case management in consultation with parents and carers.
We want your child to be successful and love coming to our school. Upon enrolling at Nirimba State Primary School, parents or carers are encouraged to speak to a member of the team about any additional supports your child may require at school.
This support may be directly linked to additional learning needs or enrichment opportunities, cultural or religious sensitivity that needs to be brought to the school’s attention or any social or emotional support needs.
