Student Leadership is based on the following beliefs:
To provide an active and supportive role in student decision making
To provide a role model for all students
To represent the school on required occasions
To assist other students to be the best they can
All Year 6 students at Nirimba have a role and responsibility for leadership. Badges will be presented for the designated leadership roles of School Captain, Sports Captains and Cultural Captains. As the school grows there is a possibility of other positions being created that will follow this program.
A selection process towards the end of Term 4 each year will determine students who will assume leadership roles.
The Student Leadership Program:
Promotes the needs and interests of students
Provides opportunities for students to be involved in school decision making
Recognises the positive role students play in the development of a supportive school environment
