The Parents & Citizens' Association would like to give you an insight into what we do here at the school.
Our executive team are:
President - Kelly Donaghy Vice President - Jasmine Waters
Secretary - Cas Dillon Treasurer – Jennifer Davenport
Throughout the year we hold fundraising events like the discos, colour run, Mothers and Fathers Day stalls, raffles & the Winter Festival. For these events to happen the P&C relies heavily on the parents, grandparents and carers time to volunteer.
The P&C uses the funds that are raised at these events to help subsidies things like excursions, school swimming & camps amongst other things.
We also run the Kookaburra Cafe (tuckshop). Kayla, our wonderful tuckshop convenor is employed by the P&C along with Vanessa, Andrea and Heather. Kayla, Vanessa, Andrea and Heather are helped each day by a fantastic group of volunteers.
The Kookaburra Cafe is open for lunch orders for first and second breaks. We are also open from 7:30am to 8:30am for drinks and breakfast. Why not grab a smoothie or coffee and a delicious breakie muffin at drop off!?
The P&C is a group of community minded people, parents and citizens, who take on a more formal role to assist the school in providing:
- feedback on school policies and activities
- additional resources to be used to enhance student learning
- parents with opportunities to be involved in their child's education.
The P&C is an important component of any school community and parent input is encouraged. We recommend that you become actively involved as it provides the opportunity for you to support your child's school and their learning experience. Parents play a valuable role in developing and maintaining the culture of a school as well as supporting the curriculum programs delivered by the school.
Our aim is to build a strong and positive school community that places children at the centre of all that we do. The P&C Association is an integral part of our school.
The P&C is completely volunteer based, so we always rely on the help of other parents and carers. A little or a lot, everything bit helps. We would appreciate anything you can offer whether it be in the tuckshop or at one of the many fundraising events we do throughout the year. If you are new to the NSPS community this is also a great way to meet new people.
We meet throughout the year on a Monday evening at 5:45pm. Please make sure you are following the official P&C Nirimba State Primary School Facebook page to keep up to date with what we are up to.
Please feel free to reach out via email executive@nspspand.com.au if you would like to volunteer or if you have any questions or feedback.
Many thanks,
Nirimiba P&C Executive Team
