Science provides an empirical way of answering interesting and important questions about the biological, physical and technological world. At Nirimba State Primary School, we teach the Australian Curriculum: Science. This curriculum ensures that students develop an interest in science as a means of expanding their curiosity and willingness to explore, ask questions about and speculate on the changing world in which they live.
The Science Curriculum offered at Nirimba State Primary School, has three interrelated strands which are science understanding, science as a human endeavour and science inquiry skills. Together, these three strands provide students with understanding, knowledge and skills through which they can develop a scientific view of the world. Students are challenged to explore science, its concepts, nature and uses through clearly described inquiry processes. Our school facilities support students to develop their inquiry skills, particularly through the use of the sustainability precinct and the local environment.
