Technologies enrich and impact the lives of people and societies globally. Australia needs enterprising individuals who can make discerning decisions about the development and use of technologies and who can independently and collaboratively develop solutions to complex challenges and contribute to sustainable patterns of living. Technologies can play an important role in transforming, restoring and sustaining societies and natural, managed and constructed environments.

Nirimba State Primary School delivers a 1-1 iPad program for students in Years 1-6, to support students to become enterprising and problem-solving members of society. Prep students will have access to iPad hubs and be taught how to use the devices as a learning resource throughout their first year of schooling, in preparation for the 1-1 program from Year 1.

In addition to the iPad program, the Australian Curriculum: Technologies, is provided to all students from Prep to Year 6. The curriculum has two distinct, yet related subjects of Design and Technologies and Digital Technologies. Design and Technologies allow students to use design thinking and technologies to generate and produce designed solutions for authentic needs and opportunities. Digital Technologies support students to develop computational thinking skills along with the use of information systems to define, design and implement digital solutions to a range of problems.
